Has anyone seen this:-
Just updated to v8 when you select 'Help Me' and then 'Drive to help' and then selct 'Nearest Doctor' it brings up the Doctors as it should. If you go 'Back' Nearest DR, Dentist, Pharmacy and Police Station are greyed out. The only one that will work repeatedly is 'Nearest Hospital' To get them back you have to do a pin reset.
Any ideas?

UPDATE
If you select 'Phone for Help' it works fine, brings up the data base every time. Switch back to 'Drive to help' and the icons are greyed out.

My 720 works fine with the above selections and re-selections, when you installed the update did you use Home or manual - Mike

I used manual. The .ov2 files must be OK cos they work on 'Phone' It could be a problem with 'Helpme' I will reinstall that folder as per 7.221 and start from there.

Make sure you have a back up then copy the entire HelpMe folder from the Navcore 8 update to the device as a number of files within it have changed, colours of flags are about the most notable.
I doubt this will cure the fault though, although having never experianced this fault it is difficult to answer, in front of me I have a 720 that works as advertised running 8,010 and cannot replicate the above fault on my device - Mike

Works correctly, as expected on my 520. I'm pretty certain that everything work with 8.010, despite TomTom apparently saying that they never released it for x20's.

I have now tried a number of backup 'helpme' folders, but looking at whats in 'helpme' they are just text and gif files. I think the problem lays deeper. Maybe a system file or something like that. But I have no way of checking that and I don't have anymore backups of v8
Thanks for your help anyway......

It's probably too obvious to have been missed, but do you have a GPS fix?

I remember someone once claiming you can't choose Drive For Help, unless you have a fix, or a last known location etc...?

Don't even know if this is true or not though... And my PND is at my Parent's House just now so I can't check.

Good point about the GPS fix, but yes I do have a fix. I think I may have a corrupt file. The files in 'Helpme' are OK so it must be an operationg system file like data.chk but I'm not sure which one controls the menus. and I don't have another copy to try a swap.
