That seems to be a GOOD new link
Still the same versions, v701 UK and v710 NL, but none of the daft needing to be logged into your TomTom account to (maybe) get it any more. AND it has got the "version" files included, so we know where we stand! |

It does seem that TomTom have neglected this in their 930T. There is a Postcode file inside each of the map folders, so I'm guessing that is where some of the partial searching is coming from. Also I keep seeing people say don't use a space when typing postcodes, where is the space as I don't seem to be able to find one on mine, and even street names are written all as one word.
As far as I can tell on the TomTom site this should work 'straight out of the box' and should work for all countries

Not knowing any non-uk postcodes I can't test it. Ok this is quite amusing, just looked up the postcode for the Louvre and it's not in the TT930T, there does seem to be quite a few French codes in there but not that one, and the best bit, using the example given in the TT helpsite (link above) it doesn't even have the Netherlands postcode used in the example.
Glad I found this fourm, as I've raised a support ticket with TT but they're only open Mon-Fri so it won't be picked up till then. |

| From memory, only the Netherlands use postcodes in the same way as we do in the UK. (I know that french addresses contain 5(?) digit codes, but I don't think that they relate to the geographical location in the same way as a UK postcode. An expert will be along shortly to explain it to us, or possibly a search would reveal the details.) TT only support postcode searches for UK & Netherlands (in v6 at least). _________________ Jock

You are correct that only UK and Netherlands use the true postcode system, in order to enter/ use a postcode for the UK you need to be in the UK, the same applys to Netherlands - you need to be in country for it to work. - Mike |

IIRC and you are in a country other than the UK or the Netherlands, choosing the Postcode Menu will give the chance to choose which Country you want to use. _________________ Richard

On every Go I've ever had, the postcode entry page has a normal QWERTY keyboard, complete with spacebar.
On current software you can hit the spacebar if you want, but it is ignored and makes no difference to what gets entered.

Eh? I've never seen that! Can you say exactly what screen/s it happens on? |

I've just found the space key. I've always used the Postcode search and it has been removed from that screen.
I have received a reply from TomTom today, and they have said if you tell them what map version you are using they will send the postcode file for it. |
