My current TomTom Go 300 is due for replacement (the mount is broken) and i am looking at this one but cannot find any info on here about it.

I prefer to stick with TomTom and want the traffic update and mapshare facility but other than that am more interested in value. Dont need European maps. Want to download the speed camera and other POI's available from here so would like adequate memory space, my Go 300 has virtually no spare memory.

Is it worth paying the extra for this or is there better value around. Help please

The problem with the new One devices is they are not fitted with any Bluetooth so you have to use the RDS-TMC receiver for Traffic, this is OK depending upon where you live/ travel. Reception has improved though over the past few months, but there are areas where the reception drops out leaving you with no information.
The One Third Edition does support MapShare and has full UK + ROI mapping, does This Provide you with some information or are you looking at a different One? - Mike

Thanksfor the reply Mike. Looks like i got some reading to do Laughing Out Loud

The one i was looking for info on is brand new to the market from what i can gather. Cannot do links but its called the XL regional Traffic (new)

To be quite honest apart from weekends away (i tow a caravan)and holidays i mainly use the satnav for local journeys so the traffic option is not totaly needed just that if i am upgrading i may as well have the latest. Also i had not realised the mapshare was going to be by subscription after the first 12 months. The idea of having it was to keep the maps up to date without having to purchase.

I like the way the my current one works so wanted something straight forward. Might be worth looking for an outdated model rather than paying top whack for the new one.

I have the slightly older One XL which is a nice unit and has the advantage of the SD slot for extra mapping and Bluetooth for the Traffic information via GPRS on your phone or the RDS-TMC receiver that you can plug into the unit.
I have not yet tried one of the "New Ones" as yet so it would be difficult to comment further, the earlier link I gave you was to the One Third Edition which is (yet) another TomTom One device - Mike
