Those are useful links, but, I have found today that the Industrial Estates file will not unzip properly. It unzips the image but not the locations. Confused Sad

Hi,

Either try again or send me a PM with your email address and I'll email it to you. The file contains both OV2 and CSV files - which one do you want?

Yes it will.

1. Download file

2. Unzip the file and choose your bridge height (for instance 10'6") the 'set' will be in 3 parts:-

‘Bridge 10’6.OV2‘ which is the bridge locations.
‘Bridge 10’6.BMP’ which is the little icon which will appear in your satnav.
‘Bridge 10’6.OGG‘ which is the warning sound.

3. Attach your satnav device to your PC or better still, insert your SD card into the PC. Whichever way you decide to do it you need to copy the three files above to the map folder on your SD card.

4. Now start your TomTom and touch the main map screen.

5. Select Change Preferences then Manage POIs (on screen 2 of 7).

6. Select Warn when near POI.

7. Navigate until you find the ‘Bridge 10’6’ POI (or whatever height you picked).

8. I have mine set for 5 miles (so I can take an alternative route in time) so have set the distance to 8800 yards.

9. Click YES when it says “Is this the sound you want?”.

10. Tick the box to accept the Warn only if POI is on route.

Go look for a bridge and try it - carefully :-)

Does this freebie poi for low bridges have the same data as the poi being offered by lowbridges.com - they charge 9.95 - I don't mind paying for it as long as it's kosher - I currently just use the AA Trucker's Atlas which I think has about 1600 bridges listed but as you know they are mostly on major roads - the lowbridges.com site says they're poi has over 3000 bridges listed - I still use TomTom V3 (bit of a dinosaur I know!) and assume both these poi's will work ok with it?
Grateful for any info on this

Tom

The freebie set has 3,069 bridges listed with the highest one being 17'-9". Some are listed as '???' so you won't know what the height is until you see the road sign?
