Hi all, I cant get the speed camera poi's to work on TT6 (on HP RX5700 running WM5), i've copied the files accross to the same folder as the map but nothing happening. They are not showing in the POI menu so i cannot select them. Its as if they're not even there. |

Hi jenkinspb
You need to put just the ov2 & bitmaps in the map folder not the speed cam folder in the map folder.
hope this helps and I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs

hi i'm having a similar problem, i have a tomtom one 3rd edition - i have put poi's directly into map folder but they are not recognised in the poi list - the ones that i downloaded using tom tom home created a .tlv file in a folder called poi - and they are working - but my problem is that i want to dl the speedcams and other poi's off here once i can get poi's to be recognised.
I know you must get this all the time but i've tried searching the forum and i am struggling after several hours to find a solution that works for me.
Any help would greatly appreciated TIA |

With the TomTom One Third Edition the menu stucture is somewhat reduced, but you can still use all the features of the POcket GPS World Speed Camera Database.
Once you have the correct download (TomTom ov2 is what your device requires) unzip it to extract the ov2 and bmp files these unzipped files should then be copied to the map folder on the device (as is standard for any TomTom unit).
With the files installed tap the screen and select "Change Preferences", go to page two of the change preferences options and select "Warn when Near POI" complete the steps for EACH camera category you have installed to the device - Mike |

I know it can be frustrating when you can't see where it is going wrong but it's really quite straightforward once you've got the hang of it.
Firstly, are you following the instructions that you get when you click on the link next to your model on the big yellow and green chart HERE? It will really help us to work out what's going wrong, if you can say exactly where in those instructions it goes wrong for you.
One thing for "rippah", don't try to use Home!
For both of you all you are doing is:
1. Download the archived database
2. Extracting all the required files onto your PC
3. copying those files to the named map folder on your device
4. "Enabling" them to show up on the device.
Following those instructions exactly WILL get you there....
The only problem may be if you have TOO MANY POIs installed in total (not counting the ones that came with the TomTom when new.
How many you can have exactly depends on software version but both of you should be able to have 100 user-installed POI categories before the TT starts to ignore any. |

to the forums!
Both of you have backed up the device to your computer, using Windows Explorer not HOME before doing anything else, haven't you? _________________ Anita

Is there any way of showing who is a subscriber so we don’t end up giving advice on the database to non-subscribers.......................... _________________ Alan --- aka Wiz.
