|
|
Hi All
I just did a "Latest Map Guaruntee" upgrade to my TT720. I've only had the TT for a few weeks but I did spend some time putting useful addresses and places in as favourites. When I completed the map upgrade using TT Home, and restarted my TT, I found that my favourites had all disappeared. It took me some time to put them all in in the first place and rather than go through that nausea again I was wondering if there's an easy way to recover them from a backup I did of the TT (using explorer) just before I did the map upgrade.

you need to copy across and replace a file called "MapSettings.cfg" to your new map folder.
Using your backup that you did before performing the upgrade you'll find it in there. This file will contain all your old favourites etc...
Once you have done this and tested it you should do a new backup of your device. _________________ TT GO 1005 |

And regarding favourites, our advice is to use them for 'scratchpad' destinations only. Any you want to keep long term are best served by adding them to a custom POI group. This can then be easily copied, backed up etc and is not subject to the 20 entry limit. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for that. Seems to have worked fine. Will now transfer all my favourites into a POI.
