Is it possible to display the road you are on when in navigation mode instead of the destination road at the bottom of the screen in TTN3?.
Hope i've explained myself clearly but the feature i'm looking for works fine you are driving around not following a route.
Thanks |

I haven't seen an option to do this. However, you can turn guidance off and then TT3 will show which street you are on. Then turn guidance back on. I have guidance on/off hardwired to one of the 4 buttons on my Ipaq. |

There's no option to display the current road when guidance is on and a map is on screen. The name of the current road will appear only when guidance is off, or when the map is hidden (either because you've selected Hide Map, or because you're above the safety speed you've configured).
A lot of new users wish for such a facility, with some justification, but usually having the next road on your route displayed is more useful. If you're in poor GPS coverage and/or there's two roads close together, then being able to see the name of the road that Navigator wants you to turn down can be invaluable. Knowing where you are when you're following a route is more for interest only.
I had suggested in the forums a while back that TomTom might like to make it configurable as to whether the current or next road is shown - but, so far, this hasn't been implemented.
Like PW, I have one of my hardware buttons configured to toggle guidance on and off - it's useful to have that readily accessible for numerous reasons.

An alternative if you want to see the current road is to lower your safety speed as the safety screen shows both current and next road.
I'm toying with lowering my safety speed down to 35 or 40 mph because I find it quite a useful screen - plus when driving at night it's much less intrusive (even than using one of the night schemes).

I had mentioned the safety screen option in my post. One of the nice new features in Navigator 3 is that it shows actual junction shapes in the safety screen (which is displayed permanently if you select Hide Map) when you get near a junction.
With Navigator 2 I had my safety speed at 40mph. In Navigator 3 I've already dropped it to 30mph and may drop it even further. Above those speeds, a map is, to my way of thinking, far too much potential distraction and is of no real use.
