Damned Vista? Prompted to download the new version, I did. Re-started Home, still version 2.3.0.70. Offered the download again, it came up with an error but included a download link so I now have v2_3_1_92_win.exe. Ran with and without admin privileges, Home still reporting 2.3.0.70
Un-installed Home, ran the 92 exe, still claims to be version 70 |

Worked fine on Windows XP Home Edition with newly installed Sp3. Can't see any changes so far.
No MapShare updates, but I'm on v7.15,1703 map with currently 15352 corrections installed, it is shown under Lates Map Guarantee as being the latest available. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. So instead of asking what they fixed, the relevant question is What Have They Broken Now? |

I can't get it to run on XP Home. It downloads ok, but when I try to start it up, I get the error "HOMEruntime.exe failed with error 0: Process failed to start up correctly".
It advises me to re-download from the TomTom website, but exactly the same thing happens.
I'm now stuck without a recent version of TomTom Home... any ideas anyone? |

Yes. when you see that error, you may also see at the bottom left of your screen a 'back' button. If so, click it and the process should start over. |

I`ve just (Friday 9th)connected to and seemingly been forced to download Home new version.
It now says I`m not connected to the internet-(when I am)--so from having a perfectly good system I`ve got a load of rubbish, because no-way can I seem to fix it.
TomTom 720
Windows xp
Avg version 8.0 |

Still trying to get it installed. Un-installed home, un-installed tyre, ran the latest install, still claims to be 70. Even edited the registry taking out anything to do with tomtom, still claims to be 70 and asks me to upgrade every time I run it |

Unfortunately not - no "back" button is anywhere to be seen - I'm stumped! |

I've had a similar experience installing the latest version under Vista.
First I ran uninstall then used CCleaner to remove unused entries in the registry. Then I removed all TomTom folders from the hard drive (after making a backup using windows explorer).
In my case I found the problem was caused by a folder that was used by a previous version of Home. The folder in question was in C:/user/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files in which I found a Home folder and a Home2 Folder. I deleted the Home folder, re-installed the latest Home software and all worked OK.
Basically look for an old Home programme (or folder) that wasn't removed in a later install. |
