Hi people
I have 2 software problem with my sony nav-u 70t, one with the GPS itself and one with the DVD. I also tried out some solutions, but nothing seems to work
problem 1: Yesterday, while installing an 'old' map from the dvd, i accidentally removed the usb cable before installation was finished. When I start up my gps now, it says "no map is found". So i tried to re-install the map trought the install-cd. Yet, the Mapwizard doesn't allow me to do so, because it shows that there is too much memory taken on the GPS (200mb out of aprox. 900mb)
Then i re-installed the nav-u aplicaton from the dvd, hoping that it would erase all memory (like a format C on windows) But nothing changed. Then i updated to version 1.05, but still not able to re-install the map...
So I went to the support site of Sony... There they had a Faq that described my problem. According to them, I just had to explore my GPS-files through ActiveSync, and in the map nav-u\MountedVolume\Sony I would find a file named XXX.map_incomplete to delete (in my map options I did select "show all hidden files") The only map i can find that resembles the helpdesks advice is "MountedVolume/Sony/Navu" But guess what no file found named XXX.map_incomplete or anything close....
Problem 2. everytime i try to start up an application from the dvd this message is shown: Error missing file: msvcr80.dll
So i went to the support line for Sony, and guess what... the solution also is shown: "install NET Framework 2.0" So i did. Still the same shiaaat happens. After some internet browsing, i found that this error is caused by a conflict with microsoft office, so i uninstalled this software... still same error message. Strangely, i still get to work with the Nav-u software on the dvd if I click "ok" on the first two error messages and just ignore the third one...
Does anyone know a solution? Cause I really would like to find out where my new girlfriend lives together with my nav-u, but i'm not planning on high investments... kinky
