|
|
Just had a search around a few websites to see if I could price & source any of the new x30 range seeing as TT have had them as "Buy Now" on there website for a few days. No joy.
The only source I can find is pixmaania, who Amazon are using....so be warned!
Has anybody else had any joy with availability? _________________ Graeme Bennett

I don't think the devices intended for the UK have been shipped as yet, the issues with the Pixmania devices have been reported elsewhere in the forum so I would steer clear of those to be honest - Mike |

If you look at the Spanish Pixmania website, they are offering the 730T and 730 for sale from 9th May 2008. And a check on the Spanish TomTom wensite says it is supplied with all the other voices, including English. So it seems as though the UK will be the last in line for these models. Still worth waiting for, or maybe purchasing whilst away on your hols.. The 730T is 435 Euros. |

Just spoke to a chap at my local Halfords and he is expecting the 930T's (£399) in-store stock on Wed, the 730T's (£279) are due to get into their main distribution centre for the middle of next week so he's expecting in-store deliveries of them during the middle of the following week. He said they also have the £530T's showing as on order but are awaiting a delivery to their main distribution centre, priced at £249 but can't say when they will be in stock.
One thing he did say to me, and he was quite adamant about this, is that he will price match any other lower price. Be that in-stores OR online. He clarified this twice. _________________ Graeme Bennett

I went into Halfords in Leamington Spa yesterday and was told "it'll be 6 weeks until we get them in"... either Leamington have a huge stock of the old models they need to get rid of, or they don't know their ar$e from their elbow....!
Oh, and they wouldn't price match for me, even though the price I was trying to get them to match was from their own website!

I did a reserve online with the Halfords in Maidenhead and picked up a 930T this afternoon, so they're definitely arriving in stores!
There was also one available in High Wycombe at the same time. |

Went to halfords today and was told the 930t would not be instore for approx 4 weeks and the 920t would be a better buy.
He said the 930t does not work correct in the uk (Good salesman this bloke), so i asked what would be the best price for the 920t and he asked his manager and came back with £349 the display price was £389.
I asked about price match if i found cheaper and he said they could not price match as they are loosing money now and a price match would make them bankrupt .
He also said as i was leaving the 930t would be approx £450 .

You can't knock him for trying to get rid of the older stock I guess!
The guy I spoke to had most of the info in his head as he said he has had "quite a few" enquiries about them already. The info he didn't know, he got from their computer systems or via their distribution centre phone line (his pal at the other end of the shop for all I know).
He told me that they [Halfords] were TomTom's largest retailer (not sure about this) so they are usually one of the first to recieve deliveries due to their buying power and that as soon as they were available to order by their store, he placed an order straight away.
Ohwell, it looks like they are starting to make there way to retailers now.
I've heard the word impatient MANY times! _________________ Graeme Bennett

So.....
Ordered a 730T from Comet online which wasn't successful. (Their online ordering process failed internally so order wasn't confirmed etc) so ordered over the phone the following day when I called to enquire about the original online order. (Monday 5th May) was told that delivery of 470 730T's were due in middle of the week and I should expect delivery of mine the following Monday (Monday 12th)
Received an e-mail today, and guess what....730T out of stock and not due back in for SEVERAL WEEKS.
Is this a sign? _________________ Graeme Bennett

I ordered a 730T from Halfords on Tuesday night (£279, standard delivery), and was dispatched with DHL tonight, so they do have stock in the warehouse. _________________ Tomtom Go 1005
