Hi
i have just upgraded to 7.481 on my go520
the upgrade went well but before I upgraded my juke box did not play and i hoped the upgrade would cure the problem. When I press the jukebox button i can see my mp3 loading but when loaded they remain blacked out and an error just says "an error has occurred" and thats it.
can someone tell me how to get the juke box back I have copied my backup file over the "internal" contents using explorer but no joy can anyone suggest anything to help?
thanks in antisipation _________________ marshall TomTom Go 520 , Western Europe v805.1801 map. app 8.2204- v7KATE 4gb sd card + other cards |

Can you try a single mp3 file put in the mp3 folder in the root of the 520's memory, remove the SD card and see if it will play that? - Mike |

I had a similar issue with mp3's and Audiobooks on the SD card of my 520 Music Edition.
Resolved by using Windows Explorer to Move (not Copy) the files from the Card to my pc, then switching the TomTom off and on again and then Moved the files back. Everything worked fine after that. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

I have copied an mp3 to the mp3 folder and removed the sd card
the file will not play with speaker preference set to internal speaker but the file will play if i use media player on the computer
i am running 7.221 at the moment having used 7.418 and returned to 7.221 because of this fault. _________________ marshall TomTom Go 520 , Western Europe v805.1801 map. app 8.2204- v7KATE 4gb sd card + other cards |

Can you double check the file extension of the music file, it should be mp3 but it might be wmv or any of the other music file formats, the TomTom will only accept true mp3 files -Mike |

If the question
Quote: | Do you mean the mp3 files Richard? |
was for me, them yes, it was the .mp3 files and the Audible books that I moved off the SD card and back on after a power cycle of the TomTom. I've had no problems since then. I think there may have been an indexing issue when the 520 looked for files to play.
Hope this helps _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Ayone know how you actually stop the jukebox on a Go? If you press the Pause button there is an option to Resume but I can't see a Stop button.
When paused, the music symbol stays on screen unless you turn it off permanantly in change preferences. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Thanks Richard. I'll have another look later as I don't have the device with me, but I still can't see any instruction to stop the music as opposed to pausing it, and it seems the only way to remove the music icon is to take it right off in change preferences.
If that's so, there's no point in having it because it's either there all the time even when not playing music, or it's never there even if you are playing music, unless you turn it on or off manually. _________________ TT Go Essential |

I think you've got it summed up right....
"Pause" is as good as you get for stopping the music.
The "music" symbol on screen is just a stripped down part of the "Quickmenu" on the x20 and x30 models.
All it is is a shorcut to get to the jukebox page. It's either there ir it isn't depending on the options setting, but it doesn't have anything to do with whether anything is actually playing or not. |

Thanks Andy, having had another look I realised it was a shortcut. I had though it was just an icon showing when you had music turned on. _________________ TT Go Essential |
