I don't know if anyone will know, but is the NAVMAN S50 compatible with those 32 channel bluetooth receivers i know the S50 has 12 channels, and my mrs's brother said the 32 channel receivers are a lot more accurate, would i be able to use a bluetooth one or would i need a wired one connected to the antena socket?
Thanks in advance
Craig
Saying 32 channels is more accurate than 12 is like saying a 1000hp supercar is faster than a 400hp super car. Theres far more to it than the number of channels. Like engine hp, once you have more than you can use, it becomes a liablity.
SO why do they do it - a significant number of people that believe quantity is more important than quality. Must be something to do with all 'those' emails we get leaving a lasting imprint on the subconcious. It's also because the last version had 24, so this needs more, lots more, so make it 32, it doesn't cost anything and you don't even need to test it - theres only 24 satlites in the constalation (and few spares as well).....
People "Get" "32 channels is bigger than 24, they Don't "get" Signal to noise ratio=23db is 100 times 20db, Common Mode rejection Ratio=.......
If you want "MORE" accuracy, you will need to dump the S50 anway, it does this thing called "Map locking", where if moves the postion it shows you to the road anyway. The maps are less accurate than the GPS, so "fixing" the GPS won't make any difference.
