Hi as yet I am not a subscriber as I don't yet have a sat nav.
I have got it down to the TomTom 720 or the 720T, and if I wait I will not be able to afford the 730 when it arrives. My question is after reading lots about how poor Tmc/Rds can be is it worth paying extra for the 720T as I am retired and he odd holdup is not a great problem,or are there advantages I don't see. thanks for any advice.

My advice, get the 720 and enjoy it. It's a great machine.
There is NO difference in the unit itself, the "T" just means it has the TMC aerial in the box.
TMC is a disaster in the UK at the moment, but if it ever gets sorted out you can easily buy the extra aerial to turn your Go720 into a "T". |

Hi Alan, and welcome.
I recently bought a TT720 from Halfrauds for the bargain price of £169 but they wanted something like £230 for the TT720T
I managed to get a TMC attachment for £30 from Amazon so based on my experience there's really no point in going for the combined package if you don't want to make the decision about having TMC yet.
My personal opinion of TMC is that you're probably just as well keeping your cash in your pocket until the system really gives some useful traffic info.
The 720 is a lovely device and I'm very happy with mine so far.
Cheers

Alan,
I managed to scoop mine whilst the Easter discount was still on.
I think you'll be lucky to match that price now but best of luck mate.
p.s. I couldn't get my local branch to even admit that there was a 730 on the way !!
