There is no startup disk, everything is built in.
Try again what I said in your other post on the same subject.
Go to Start - Settings - System - SysInfo - Clean Boot - Start and using the pop-up keyboard enter 0 0 0 in the code - OK.
This will put device back to factory settings and should 'boot' as normal.
If that doesn't work then I guess when you were told by the seller it had only a battery problem, they were telling you 'porkies'. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

i dont have any start menu right now my screen is blue and it says Oscar250/260AB_UT_R13
0= image upgrade tools
1=uboot upgrade tool
2=GPS tools
3=BT tools
4= dump tools
5= merory test
6= low lev format
i have read some other posts and it tells me i need to install a firmware/rom file in the image upgrade tool option. the problem i am having is the p550 is malfunctioning so my computer cant recognise it. thats why i am looking for the driver install program. the two that i have downloaded dont and are just information and not the program. |

Maybe the the person who sold it to you had problems and messed up trying to fix it. I found the following.

It seems that if you have flashed it with a new copy of the O/S which you seem to have done according to your last post, and it has not stuck, then my guess would be that it's pretty damn broke. My other guess would be along the lines of lost property's post above. Does Windows actually acknowledge that you have connected the Mio to the usb port? |

windows only acknowledges that it connected to a malfunctioning usb device so i cant even flash it with a new copy of the o/s. I was thinking if one of the 2 disks the mio comes with would be able to let my comp know what the device is that maybe then i could flash it. The person who sold me the p550 did not have the disks im guessing he got the item the same way i did. |

The Mio 168 flashes the O/S from an SD card. I assume there is no option for this in the 'Image upgrade tools' menu on your Mio or you would have tried it. Can't understand why no one has the drivers though.
Apparently the driver is on the DVD in the folder “USB driver”. (For the benefit of other readers) |
