Since we have moved from GMT to BST I have noticed that the clock on my GO510 resets itself from BST to GMT every time that I connect it to the computer.
I don't have Home running so that's not causing the problem.
I always disconnect properly using the icon near the clock on the PC.
Software version on the tomtom is 7.162. PC running windows XP Pro.
Anyone else getting this problem? Anyone have a fix for it ?

Go to change preferences, 8 of 8 Set Clock.

| I do that (it's actually 3 of 7 on my GO510) and the clock stays correct until I connect it to the PC, then it reverts to GMT. |

Is your PC's clock set to BST?
Could be that the Go 520 is picking up the time from the PC, I know my Orbit does when it syncs but wasn't aware that the Go would do it.

Yes, the PC is set to BST.
A bit of experimenting shows that it doesn't matter what time zone the PC is set to the GO510 always reverts to GMT when I disconnect it from the PC. |

My Go 720 was reset to BST when the clocks changed and is connected to the PC either via Home2 or as an external drive at least once a day and the time remains the same after disconnecting.
This afternoon I reset it to GMT and reconnected and disconnected half a dozen times and it still remained at GMT so it's not getting the time from the PC, so manually reset it to BST and did the same again and it remained at BST.
The only other thing I can think of, is that the mapsetting.cfg file is holding the time setting and set to read only. So when you change the time to BST it is not saving that in the file. But i'm clutching at straws now as I'm not 100% sure that the time is stored in that file it's just a possibility.

Just a thought, does this only happen when you download the GPS data update via tomtom home.
I dont know but does the rest of Europe update there clocks at a different date to us here in the UK? and that is what is throwing the time out by one hour.

No, it happens every time I connect to the PC. Home is not running.
If I simply connect to the PC and disconnect the clock goes back from BST (or any other hour that I set) to GMT. |

Just been playing with mine again, if i go into the menu option Set Clock and use the down arrow to move the time back by 2 hours then tap on done it saves that time setting, but if I go back to set clock and leave the time as set then tap on Sync it resets the time to BST. This is with the Go not connected to the PC or anything else, so I don't know what it is synchronising with unless it is via Bluetooth to my Mobile Phone. Might be worth a try.

The satellite time signals. Unless TT have built in an either/or feature.
It used to be that using Sync would change the Minutes reading, if need be. The hours setting didn't change.

They used to be a week out from us in the UK - but we are now all harmonised! It's the last Sunday in March and October (I think!)

I had a similar issue to this when the clocks changed, pressing sync would put the time back to GMT even though we were on BST.
I remembered having a similar issue last summer on return to Uk from Europe, even when I changed the map from Europe to UK it kept wanting to use CET.
I remember solving it by resetting my home location, even though I didn't make any change, the process of setting home location seemed to prompt tom-tom to recalibrate and resolve the issue.
I tried this and it worked! |

When I did it this morning at 7:15 and manually set it to 5:15 using the sync it rest it to 7:15 seems it will now change the hour setting as well if needed.

I imagine that it is picking it up from the time signal transmitted by the satellites ( hours and minutes ), I think that changing your home location then changes tomtom to the relative time zone.

I tried this and i didn't work. 
Sorry not to have replied to all those who have tried to help, I've not had access to the computer for a few days.
The tomtom has kept perfect time whilst it has been away from the computer but as soon as I connected it again it reverted to gmt. |
