|
|
I have just purchased the speed camera soft ware for my navman and have driven to a location where I know the gatso layout. I am getting the audiable warnings I am not seeing the camera positions. I have copied the camera and bmp to the Navman POI and it appears that everything is loaded, but no icons displayed.
Has anyone any ideas.

Not familiar with this particular model but you usually have to tell the system which POIs to display and how far away from them to sound a warning. I don't have my navman to hand but it's usually somewhere on the menus system under Preferences/ POIs. I f you can't find it, post a reply to that effect and I'll look at it when I get home.
One other thing check that the icon file displays ok in Windows and isn't corrupted.
Good luck

Hi Paul
On the 630 you set the POI preferences for each camera type individually and add the icon bmp in the same screen as you up load it. Visual and audiable warnings are set at 600 ft and I have checked the icon file and it is visable in paint although they are 44 x 44 pixels. I noticed looking around the forum that some Satnavs can only cope with 4 - 8 pixels.

Hi Adrian
I don't use the PocketGPS speed cameras because of the restriction on own POI files on S series. The icon size for the POI I do have is 22 x 22, about 2kb, and is in Navman/Icons folder on the GPS unit. You should be able to browse this from My Computer in windows. If you have this open so that it is showing all the disk drives then you should see the new drive appear when you connect your GPS. You can then double click the bmp file and it should then be displayed on your PC.
I don't know what the menu structure is like on the 630 but on the S90 the sequence is Main Menu/ Preferences/ Map POIs which gives you a list of all the POIs on the system. You then select which POIs to display in a tick box. The user defined POIs are at the front on the S series but not necessarily on the 630.
Is this any help?

The problem will probably be with your bmp. I know the iCN6xx series was pretty picky about the size, I think 32*32 was the max, but I can't be sure (it was too long ago).
Try some otehr images, I would start by looking around PGPW for images explicity for the iCN6xx series. |

Where did you get a 44 x 44 pixel .bmp from? The ones in our download are only 22 x 22? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for your contribution. I don't mind admiting that I am shooting in the dark. Where do you think I should be looking. My iCN 630 was replaced by navman after I upgraded from SmartST 2 to SmartST3 and the maps would not load. Tech support said it was to do with their server timing out. I just want to get it working.

Theres a handy little program available for free at
http://www.jql.co.uk/avatarsizer.htm
which allows you to alter the size of avatrs etc.
I found it quite handy when making my own little icons for various of my own POI's. _________________ Navman ICN 520

I find the best for me are the 'UK Consolidated by type' and then if I am off on a EU trip I add the 'EU Consolidated by type', but I guess if you ask ten different people you will get ten different answers

6xx devices required not just correct size but also allowed only limited number of colours. I don't remember any more what exact restrictions were, but I *think* 22x22 1bpp should work. |
