Excuse my ignorance but I have only just moved from a Garmin Nuvi to a Mio C520t. A couple of questions (hopefully not too stupid)
1) When using the PWGPS cameras does the unit warn of cameras with a 'bong, bong' sound (similar to the Garmin) or the high pitched 'peep, peep' that occurs when using the Mio camera d/base? (I found the bongs disappeared into the background after a while and I didn't even notice them when they went off)
2) When approaching a camera do you still see the camera icon as seen with the Mio d/base or is it a red text box across the top of the screen as with Garmin?
3)I am assuming that prior to installationof the PWGPS d/base one needs to delete the existing Mio camera d/base first. I guess that if I replace the current cam warnings with the new data in my program files it will overwrite the Mio cameras with the PWGPS when I subsequently download the new data
I like the warnings given by the Mio but I am less impressed by the content of their camera d/base
thanks |

Thought you might like to know that this database works fine with my MIO 268+ running V3.2.
All I did was copy the speedcams.mtc file to \miomap\miotc\pois replacing the original file supplied by mio on the SD card. You have to take the card out of the 268+ in order to update it, but that's no big deal. At least I know the DB is up to date! Thanks for suppling the MTC file. |

I have just subscribed to the pocketgpsworld speed camera database and downloaded the latest MTC file.. However, when I copy this across to my \miomap\poi folder the cameras dont show up in the map..I have also tried copying them to the \miomap\poi\speedcam folder, but no luck.
I have 3 files in the Speedcam folder:
SpeedcamUpdates.spud, 0kb
speedcam.spdb, 8.8kb
SpeedCamsV14.spb, 8.1kb
I understand SpeedcamUpdates.spud could potentially include a list of cameras, but I dont really want to use that file as I've downloaded the MTC file for the Mio.
I am running Miomap 3.3 |
