Hi all,
I’m wondering if anyone can help I have no idea where to start. Basically I'm looking for a device that I can use for a scenario like this.
Ok, so I visit a ski resort in the Alps and I want to record the co-ordinates of a particular chalet, bar etc. (easily done) but then I would also like the functionality to be able to make notes on the device such as chalet, bar names and other notes. Then I would like to download the data to a computer where co-ordinates and the corresponding notes I've taken can be viewed.
In a nutshell are there any devices like this that allow me to save co-ordinates & notes linked to them? and if so what are the key words that will help me find them?

A Windows Mobile PDA with built-in GPS would be a good starting point! You can also use a PDA type device to type notes, record audio or video or take photos. I think some of them can add the lat/lon information to photos that you take with the built-in camera to help you figure out where you were.
There are a few PDA phone devices with GPS built in now. HTC P3600, P3300, Artemis, MDA Compact III, MDA Vario III, Nokia N95 and others. Some have keyboards, others touch screens. I'm sure a few people here can comment on which ones work best! _________________ Gone fishing!
Cant you do this with any unit that acepts ov2 POIs, I have put in some hefty address,s and telephone NOs Ok, not sure of the text limitations but the only limitations i can imagine are the restrictions of what you can view on the screen.
