Anquet routes & SatSync

Has anybody got these two to work together?
I have created a route on Anquet and after faffing got it to
create a .map file which on loading to Satmap tells me that it is NOT
of correct format?

I ponder whether i am having a senior moment OR it isn't possible to do
what I hope

Did you mean adf files as thats what i saved and then tried to transfer

.adf is Anquet Database Format, an internal proprietary format that the software uses to store all your overlaid data, and has no relevance whatever outside Anquet - nothing else understands it.

The only possible formats for exporting a route are .arf (Anquet Route Format) and .aef (Anquet Exchange Format), as shown on the Tools -- Import/Export menu. Neither of these are any use for SatMap either:- you need GPX format.

Anquet say they will support GPX at some time in the future.

Dear GeoffC et al

Anquet v6.2.2 does support GPX (It is downloadable for free from our website).

Just go to File ... Database ... SaveAs and select different file type.

GeoffC - could you clarify for me - when you say it works fine - do you mean the "save as GPX" works fine, or that you have also successfully converted these GPX files to Satmap format in Satsync

as i asked the question initially.
i have saved the planned route in Anquet as a gpx file
AND then succesfully loaded it to Satmap via Satsync.
The only trouble was that i also went and spent dosh on buying Satmap
software as well : this was BEFORE the response from Anquet on this board - NOW have belt and braces approach.

Indeed, there isn't AFAIK any such beats as 'SatMap Software'? Do you mean memory-Map or something similar?

FWIW I've found GPS Utility the best so far for converting files to Satmap .GPX format.

Anyway the upshot is that tracks in Anquet can be loaded into
Satmap via the software (SatSync beta version)

A track created on Satmap can be loaded into Anquet
and displayed

In case it helps others using Anquet mapping with SatMap, here is my approach to transferring routes from both v1 and V6 of Anquet to SatMap

Because Anquet v1 doesn't have a Save As .gpx option it is necssary to
install Anquet v6 (free from Anquet complete with free regional aerial maps.) Both versions can exist on a PC concurrently without affecting each other.

It is also necessary to have SatMap's SatSYNC software installed.

Save the route from Anquet v1 in its native .arf format.

Load this .arf file in Anquet v6. If the free aerial mapping or purchased mapping is installed the route will be overlaid on this.

Now just export this route file from v6 in .gpx format by selecting File / Database / Save as MyRoute.gpx

Now connect the SatMap with the USB cable and run SatSYNC.

In SatSYNC select File / Import / MyRoute.gpx from wherever you saved it to. You are given the option to save to memory or SD card. For safety so as to protect the map data on the SD card it seems safest to select Memory.
(nb Selecting File / Copy File to Active 10/ MyRoute.gpx will indeed copy the .gpx file onto the SatMap but won't achieve anything useful!)

It is now necessary to disconnect the SatMap from the PC and restart the SatMap.

Your new imported route should show up on the routes page as 'Route' (not sure why it forgets it's original file name, it can however be easily renamed on the SatMap (perhaps this will be addressed in a future software update.) Select this route with 'Activate' and navigate away.

If anyone's experiences differ it would be interesting to compare notes.
