Hi,
Just introducing myself. Roger's the name. I bought an Active 10 recently and I'm lovin it. But, I have a question on how to use it...
I want to be able to download routes straight to the unit, rather than having to program in a list of waypoints manually, and I'm a bit confused about how it's done. I've read loads, both on here and elsewhere, but I just seem to be getting more confused.
Could someone give me a simple explanation of how (and where) to get routes from the web, and how to get them onto this amazing little machine?

Welcome to the forum, the SatSync software allws you to install routes directly from the PC to the device, but in order to use this software the routes need to be in GPX format.
Depending upon what and where you download your route from on the net there are various utilities that can be employed to transpose data to the required format (I use GPSBabel) I explained how to use it in This Thread.
If you have any examples of walks you want to download post up the URL in this forum thread and one of us will have a look at how to get it onto the active10 - Mike
I've downoaded the software like you said and all seems well. Now I need to find some actual GPX files (walks) to download. I expect I'll have to get round to converting file types eventually but, for now, where would you recommend as a good site for downloading 'system-ready' GPX files?
