Definitely not a Holux. Maybe a rebadged Rikaline 6033. But the company looks really fishy. Do it at your own risk. _________________ Lutz

They're clearly trying to play on the 'Holux' name. Never heard of Holox. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Last time I looked they had only 28 GPS sats up, and from any point on the earth's surface you can not see much more than 12.
Unbelievable how such a blatant marketing lie goes undisputed. _________________ Lutz

i-Blue: If you type i-blue into ebay search box you will come up with a UK seller. |

HOLOX: what a clever scam. Internet search engines will often sugest Holox as an altenative to HOLUX plus the easy oppotunity to misspell HOLUX as HOLOX. I nearly got sucked in without realising till I couldn't find an RFDM chipped unit on the HOLUX site.
Award for p*ss taker of the year must go to the Ebay seller who proclaims
HOLOX, THE ORIGINAL, BEWARE OF NO NAME COPIES
Is it just coincidence or has any one noticed that HOLOX ryhmes with Bolox! |

I agree that HOLOX is a bit of a dubious name to use, and claiming that HOLOX is the "ORIGINAL" is rubbish.
BUT I have a HOLOX bluetooth GPS which is simply a re-badged "WondeX BT-100Y BT GPS by GiSTEQ" which you'll find by an internet search. Its a great reciever compared to my old one which I accidentally left in a hire car in Italy.
It has very fast fix time, excellent battery life, good signal sensitivity, and a lot cheaper than a HOLUX reciever of equivalent spec. It also has an AGPS facility (not essential to use, but is one of the reasons
I think if you search these forums you'll find a thread about the BT-100Y and its excellant performance. |

Must admit I'm not that impressed with Holox. Got one from E-bay last month and whilst its aqcuision is fast it is about 3 sec behind when on the move in a straightish line and at junctions and roundabouts takes anything up to 10 sec to catch up on exit. It's the same on TT6, Memory Map and Fugawi on my HX4700. I tried my old 12 channel unbranded receiver (now used by my son) and that was far more accurate.
I have e-mailed Holox and tried the web-site but neither are found! I e-mailed the supplier via their website but have as yet received no reply.
Pretty cheesed off! |
