Next weeks Gadget Show (Mon 8pm 7th April 08, Channel 5) is road testing handheld GPS's and from the (very) brief clip I saw it seems the SatMap may be amongst them.

I see there was a Satmap 'review' in the Sunday Times 2 days ago....it said a life of 30 hours from 3 AAs could be expected.

You will get around 30 Hours from a set of normal AA cells if you don't turn the device on - Mike |

So the Satmap blew the Magellan and Garmin out of the water! I must say I was surprised at how poor the Garmin performance apparently was. The screen on the Satmap seemed very bright compared to mine! I wonder which version of firmware Jason was using....
