The folders MUST be opened and the contents transferred to the corresponding folder on the device, please don't simply overwrite the folders or you will cause a load of problems.
The LoquendoTTS folder needs to be opened followed by the lib folder then put the single file in the LoquendoTTS/lib folder on the device - Mike |
Looking for some advice please folks. Have downloaded (7.221) from OldBoy and unzipped but have found 61 files not 4 folders + 9 files. What have I done wrong? Any advice most welcome .... |

I've just downloaded that to check and it's 4 folders and 9 files which in total are 60 files. It sounds as though you have not maintained the folder structure when unzipping. You could try moving the files into the directories individually using the list below (the asterix means any text)

Dear Mr ......,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
Regarding the issues you are experiencing since updating to the latest version of the software application, it could be that there are too many files in the flash memory on your device:
Please follow the instructions on this webpage:- _________________ TomTom 5001 |

Just docked my 520 and it upgraded from 7.480 to 7.481
No real issues with 480 except long on button press and backlight off on shutdown screen
On my sofa I have 7 satellites with the average signal bars at 50%
tried navigation to a post code, poi, divert for traffic and all seems normal.
Also started to use my bluetooth remote which really helps and instant play of music

Hi All,
After trying both new versions and failed i have reverted back to 7.2..
I Have a question.
If TT have tested these new versions are they testing them on Raw factory reset units or have they used units which have users setting on them?
May be we need to factory reset them and do a clean upgrade on a factory set unit then try putting in our settings, poi etc.
I would like to know if any one has done this before i may be brave enough to try it.
Thanks

The device works as far as I am concerned, but the RDS-TMC is still lacking, this is the only problem I have with the new software to be honest - Mike |

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply.
I know TT should tell us if that was what was needed, but sometimes these boffins forget the real world.
I had problems with the please wait, unable to find any poi or addresses etc.
I did a pin reset and got most back, but when using the nav to poi it shows the wrong screen.
I picked a poi of my own on the list and when it showed me the location it did not have to select button shown.(only back and call button).
I few pin resets later then its ok.
The traafic i cannot get working.

Can you do Itinerary planning in Home? Can you see an Accounts button between Copyright and Done buttons when you're in the Device information page?
Both of these do not work for me with 7.780/1 but do in 7.221. I also have a 920T that is not recognised as such by Home - it thinks it's a 720. This works correctly in 7.221. _________________ David

Hi All,

I Have a question.
If TT have tested these new versions are they testing them on Raw factory reset units or have they used units which have users setting on them?
In reply to the above and having reverted back to 7.221 twice due to all the bugs I thought I would try a factory rest. So I removed all third party apps from the 720 main memory, removed the memory SD card did a factory reset and updated to version 7.481.
This time everything worked perfect. Sat fix was instant, no problems with crossings or POI's. No problems with turning on delay or screen going dark when turning off, battery seems to last longer, VR works fine and GPRS Traffic is as good as ever. So it would appear remove apps and factory reset first, well it worked for me. |

Been running 7.481 since i had issues with my 720 turning off and asking for pc connection everytime you plug the cigar lighter in! TT sugested the upgrade and it worked! But a chap at work had same issues as above, after installing Suntime app! (i had also installed this), TT told him due to Navcore 7 being so advanced TT have removed the ability to use 3rd party applications on this platform as they could interfere with normal running, please remove all 3rd party apps then either restore or upgrade your device, to resume normal opperation! This is the advice TT told him! I'm wondering if my issues were down to suntime now!
My mates 720 is also running on 7.481 and has none of the problems some are having with 7.481! (except Traffic but thats another issue!!!!!)
Advice:Try removing any 3rd party apps then try upgrade! |
