|

Every time I install the TomTom home software (latest version) on my Vista Business x64bit pc, when starting the program I get the following error:
component returned failure code 0x800040005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nslProperties.get]
After which I can't do a thing with it, any ideas as TomTom does not seem to want to help me. |

Had exactly the same problem a few months back, TomTom gave me a few things to try out, none of which helped.
Due to a slow system setup I reverted back to XP which sorted out the problem for me. |

Bob,
A couple of things I've just found in the e-mail's from TomTom you can try.
1. Uninstall all traces of the program, make sure all program files have been removed
2. Ensure all temporary and program data files (I think on Vista it's something like C:\Users\App Data or something like that) are totally removed, just delete the TomTom folder at this stage.
3. One other thing, but you'd need to know what you were doing, remove all traces of TomTom keys e.t.c. from the registry.
4. Then download the latest version of HOME and install it again.
Sadly this didn't do the trick for me, but it might be worth a shot on your side
