Are you sure you're a Southerner Softypants? They're not usually this bright. _________________ Dennis

Is Wembley on your 920T, or is it too early to say?
I'd like to see a Pompey v Barnsley final and I'll be rooting for Barnsley to wind up the family on my wife's side _________________ Andy

No sign of the stadium but the space is there OK and all the right roads!!!
Pompey in the final? Don't think they will get past West Brom ( and they don't deserve to be there anyway after the Preston Game |

Tried the new toy in anger today although not far.
Good directional and MP3 sound through the car stereo. Yes I have to turn it up some but not as much as I was led to believe.
Phone works really well when hands free with the TT but I haven't yet tried it through the car stereo.
For some reason the 'computer Kate' likes to describe miles as yards eg. " in 1.3 yards turn right into ..... " Quickly switched to 'Simon' and he was ok - Must be a bloke thing the girlies are never that good at things like yards and feet etc.
Instant link to TMS as well which surprised me.
All in all I am pleased so far.
This afternoon we shall try TT Home being VERY careful which boxes are ticked.
probably be back on later tearing out the hair!!!!

As you have that Windows Explorer backup to revert to should Home do the wrong thing, then I don't think you have too much to worry about to be honest. - Mike |

Not trying to tempt fate Mike but.............
If it does all go t*ts up, what is the process to reload it all?
Do I simply connect to the 'plutor Win. Explorer then delete all files of TT then cut and paste my back up files and folders back to the TT? |

1st - apologies to Anita - didn't realise that big sister was monitoring us. I live with 3 girlies though and I am unfortunately tarring the rest of you with the same brush. I will berate and flagellate myself accordingly
Loaded and updated TT Home to latest version. 2.2.2.83
Option of application update 7.480 - big LEAVE IT on that
Option of Quick GPSFix to 1207237950 - left that too.
12 other 'offers' of camera updates , one being UK for 16 quid ish. left those too for now.
It says I already have the latest maps but reading another post it sounds like TT may be having me over.. I have v710 - do I need to get on to them? |

The latest maps are v715 so I would give them a ring on Monday morning 0845 161 0009 and ask them to credit your account with the new maps, and as its a 920 I would also expect the US maps and European - Mike |

Hi Hector and welcome. Good to have someone who looks like he's doing everything right from the start.
I've just answered about the map question in your other post (and have to admit I gave a little dig about asking it elsewhere, as it was hijacking a speed camera topic).
Basically - Yes you should have been offered v715 maps, but there are many people who've had the same problem as you where Home says you already have the latest ones.
Ring TomTom and ask them to put the new maps onto your account.
Phone number is:
0845 161 0009
Monday - Friday: 08:00 to 20:00 GMT
(every first Tuesday of the month: 09:00 to 20:00 GMT)
EDIT: Rats, while I was getting the phone number, Mike snuck in before me.
You might have a fight getting ALL the maps, as there seems to be a bit of paper in their idiots guide to TomToms that says something like "you are only entitled to ONE map under the Latest Map Guarantee. In fact this should be read as one map release ie if they bought out TWO new map versions in the thirty days, you wouldn't be entitled to both, but there are PLENTY of people on the forums who have eventually got ALL the maps on a 920 updated under the guarantee.

Thanks to both of you
Will they ask for any details other than email address for my HOME Account?
Andy - only turned out right for me because I had to wait a few days for the toy to be delivered and I then had the chance to take heed of lots of good advice on here. I have clearly benefited from the misfortunes of others.
Your little dig was noted but - hey ho - mods will be mods!! (not sure what a verifier is) Broad shoulders or thick skinned - one of the two. |

Good! I trust you'll be posting photos to prove you've done it.
By the way, I'm not the only 'big sister' around here. If I hadn't pulled you up on your 'girly' comment Bo Peep would have done, and she's a mod and has to be obeyed! _________________ Anita
