It is not alway's but I use french of english computer voice in my XLS. I notice alot of time: turn left, then closer to the intersection :"Turn right". Or just the opposite. And just now, the said turn right on st-Thomas street, and the screen show to turn LEFT on Cure-Poirier st. I know where I am going... but when I will be lost it would be anoying to have that kind of TTS mistakes. I had a XLS that I exchange after 1 day cause he was doing that too.
Called suport, they said to report it in mapshare as other error and they will release a application update. Let's see if they will fix it for real. Otherwise it is a good machine.

I have a T junction a couple of miles from home where I have to turn left. Using my old Navteq map the instruction was to turn left, but in the last two TeleAtlas maps I have used, the first instruction is turn right, then just before the junction it says bear right. The arrow on the screen clearly shows to turn left. I have reported this (twice) to TomTom and once to TeleAtlas, but a friend who has just got 715.1703 says it is still the same!

Hum... did you reported as other error, probably. The support din't know if it was about the map itselve or the device. It is just randomly doing that to me.
