I'd be inclined to believe the rumours, that TomTom have decided to move away from the Pocket PC arena, to concentrate on their very successful bespoke devices. At least with those they can control the hardware specifications so much that it either works, or it doesn't.
With them touting v8 of the navigation software on the x30 range, Id say they have left TTN6 for dead. Plus by not announcing that a new one won't be delivered means it will still attract sales in the PPC and Smartphone markets.
I'm sure TomTom would have said "It's on it's way" if they had intended to release a new version.
I'm still patiently waiting for PocketGPSWorld to release the CoPilot7 review, so I can ascertain if it's worth jumping ship. (Hint ... cmon Darren, post it!!! Then update it with the LiveSearch stuff ;-) ) |

TomTom have never confirmed a new release prior to the official launch.

Yes I know I have delayed publication pending the availability of the Live Search update. If I don't have it by COP Monday I will publish, I promise! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Really? That is very poor marketing. Talk about not keeping the customer informed! I do suppose that it ensures that they gain consistent sales, rather than people waiting for the next release, due on X date.

Not really. Any announcement will inevitably kill sales, to announce a product such as this before it is available would be foolish in the extreme. You won't see any of the main GPS manufacturers make any mention of a product until it is either available or very close to becoming so. _________________ Darren Griffin |

As a matter of interest, could it be that TT are going to bypass V7 for PPC and move straight onto V8 now that they have announced the x30 series with v8 software.
Just a thought!!

It's as good a thought as any! We honestly don't know. Sometime we know and can't say, this time we don't! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi,
I recently bought the "PDA-Essential and GPS Advisor" magazine. In it there was a short notice bout a rumour that TT plans a similar fone to Garmin's Nuevi-Phone.
If they do so, they cant sell it with old TT6, can they?
