for some reason when travelling from A46 Coventry area going towards M5 directions send me down M40 south to the next junction, round the roundabout and then back onto M40 instead of going onto M40 north, is it likely to be a mapping error or is there something in the settings i should change

For any question like this, the first thing you really need to tell us is the MAP version and the SOFTWARE version you're using. Then we can say whether it is a software glitch or a mapping error and whether it has been corrected in later versions already (or only appeared in later versions!!)
It's probably an error in the speed assigned to a single section of road.
You can check that by using the MapShare reporting facility if you have it. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do (yet) to correct it yourself.
Navcore 8 will have the facility to change speed limits for road segments, but I'm not sure if that will also change the speed it uses for calculating times. |

Sounds like someone has blocked the 'logical' sliproad route using MapShare? |

My thoughts exactly.
Has the opening poster downloaded the mapshare updates? If so what level of 'security' did you do?

I think it's the same problem that was discussed from This Post. _________________ Richard

For info, if you mean the area around N 52.25802 W 1.60037, it's still doing it on my Go720 with v7.221 software and v715 maps (on "fastest" route)
AND it doesn't matter if I'm using MapShare corrections or not... so it's not that.
Edit: well remembered Richard... |

In which case, maybe you CAN correct it with mapshare yourself (if it is a blocked section of roundabout, rather than an incorrect speed.
Go read that other post carefully, (as I'm about to do!) |

Ah the old classic Longbridge Roundabout is back in the forum. Try select the shortest route and you will be directed the correct way. The problem comes from incorrect map data for the roundabout which was discussed in the previous thread. |
