Hello all,
Well, after all the initial problems, my BT308 is working beautifully with my e740.
But in the kit was a dual PDA/BT308 auto charger. I'm just wondering if I could use this to power my e740 and BT308 simultaneously or will it fry the insides of my li'l PDA. It seems that both devices draw 5V DC but have slightly different ampages.
Anyone try this with their e740?

Different current draw isn't a problem if both devices need the same voltage. However, if the voltage drops with the combined current draw (that is, the power supply can't cope with powering both devices at once), or one device puts out excessive interference on the power supply, you may hit problems.
Unless a charger is clearly designated as being able to power both devices, I'd rather try to stick multiple hardwired cigarette lighter sockets behind my dashboard, and put a dedicated charger in each. However, I realise that may not necessarily be possible or easy to achieve.

I have used the adapter to power both my Ipaq 3970 and the BT308 many times. On longer trips especially as the PDA is set to keep the display lit longer than when running on battery.
I only used the mains charger once when it was delivered, since then it's been stored away in the box. |

Check out PC-Mobile they do a Y converter cable to split the power supply into 2 iPaq style plugs. _________________ Mike Barrett |

...which leads me to ask, will my e740 take the iPaq style plug, current and voltage?
