|
|
Hi,
after few disconnections my TT internal memory was corrupted and since then 'my computer' recognize TT as a local drive, but when I want to go in there, windows says: "insert disk first", disk menagement says "no disk" etc... Format is impossible either.
I'm not really bothered that I've lost 512MB, but the problem is when i connect my TT to the pc.. then it takes 60-90 seconds to actually recognize the device along with the memory card in "My computer", during which time the Windows Explorer is "Not Responding".
What can I do with it?
Thanks for any advice.. |

You could try running the Clear Flash utility on the device, although when the memory did a similar disapearing act in my One XL it didn't fix it - worth a try for a start see This Page and its listed as #14
Another option to return it to the supplier, if its only a few days old consider taking it back to the shop, after that its a waranty job back to TomTom.
Final option is to put your backup (I hope you have one) on to an SD card and insert that to the device, it will then boot from the card and work quite normally (this is what I did with my One XL in the end) - Mike |

The device is few months old now, but still on warranty. I'm not really willing to send my TT to TT service. Anyway, that happened in december 2007 and since then I decided to put everything on memory card. Also I've noticed that TT wasn't working properly when I had system and some addons on internal memory and maps and some other addons on memory card. Not every addon was regognized so I transferred everything to the memory card anyway. Few days after I got internal memory corrupted. |

I have a TT 520, bought a few weeks ago, and I made a 490MB WinImage image of the TomTom drive when I first got it. I could send you that if you run out of options, but I'm unsure of whether that would be against a license agreement (which I've never actually seen anyway, but still...). |

Apart from the fact that your map is linked to your device so will only make matters worse for zYx if he decides to load it, it is against the licence agreement that you accepted when you first used the device. _________________ Gerry

Please don't. System files can be obtained from TomTom via HOME. The map files are subject to licence conditions and locked to the device so should not be shared. _________________ Darren Griffin |

As I mentioned, I have loaded everything to the memory card and it's not an issue. |
