I think it's 40 but why would you want to use them? Our advice has always been that favourites should be treated as a temporary notepad for throwaway addresses only.
Anything you wish to keep and re-use would be much better served by being saved in a custom POI group. _________________ Darren Griffin |

i forgot to add, that the reason i save them into favourites (and don't have enough listed there because of limitations) is when i arrive somewhere off the beaten track and i need to return there i simply tap 'add to favorites' then 'gps position'.
how would i get the gps location saved if i'm saving it in a poi group?? |

Ok two questions there but yes a custom POI group for 'customers' would almost certainly be the way to go. You can then use favourites as a scratch pad and copy addresses from there into the custom group as you go on.
First you to create the custom group.- Change preferences
- Manage POIs
- Add POI category
- Enter your chosen POI group name i.e. 'customers'
- Select an icon (you can create your own custom icon later if you wish) but for now choose one of those provided
- And that's it, a custom POI Group called 'customers' now exists.
You can now browse the map, locate addresses etc, then press the round quartered icon button on the browse map screen and choose 'Add as POI' and then select your new POI group.
Similarly you can navigate to any entries in that POI Group.
To copy these addresses into a POI group:- Browse map
- Select 'Find'
- Select 'Favourite'
- Choose the favourite you wish to copy
- On the map screen select the round quartered icon
- Add as POI using the same steps as before.
The beauty of custom POI groups is you now have an .ov2 file in your map folder with the custom POI name i.e. customers.ov2 which you can back-up, share with colleagues etc _________________ Darren Griffin |

If you have already created the POI Category, then switch to Browse Map.
Select Find. and then My Location
Select the Blue Cursor button and then Add as POI.
Select your Category and give the Location a Name.
If you precede the Category Name with an Underscore (_) it will place the category at the top of the Category List which will save having to Find it.
The bottom line is that it is more keystrokes, but much more flexible.
Edit. Beaten again. _________________ Richard

Darren and Richard (and everybody else who has ever put forward this POI stuff). I hate to think how many times I have seen this and quietly said to myself "Yeah, Yeah" and ignored it.
For some strange reason, this morning I'm in paying attention and listening mode, so I've just spent about a quarter of an hour changing all my Favourites to POIs and putting them on all three of my devices. Apart from the advantages you've already stated, I realised this will resolve my problems with dying settings losing all my Favourites on a regular basis AND leave Favourites free for temporary use via the Quick Menu button.
I am so grateful to you all, including those who've said it in other threads, and so apologetic to you all for failing to RTFM the very simple manual you've all been offering for so long.
I really should get a smack far more often.

So you can teach an old dog new tricks
Good on you for 'owning up' rather than sneakily changing your ways behind the scenes _________________ Andy
