Hi
I'm pulling my hair out !
I'm using a Dell Axim x51V with TomTom Navigator 6 and the TT BT Receiver MK2 - all fine and works well.
BUT
I know where I'm going a lot of the time, so don't need maps and directions. I thought I'd try some other GPS software to show speed direction etc. etc. for a change. - Nothing I load works, all software fails to find the TT BT receiver, I'd like to use GPSDash2, it does all I want.
I've got a Fujitsu pocket LOOX too, that's never had TT Nav loaded and GPSDash2 works 1st time with my TT BT receiver ?
I hope one of you genius' out there can help me.

I think from memory you may find that TomTom does not allow other programs to share the blue tooth signal, I say this from memory of a past posting on this site, susgest you do a search but i think its quite a while back meanwhile perhaps someone more knowledgable on this may give a more definitive answer. |

You must exit TomTom fully before starting up another GPS application, or you could install Fransons GPS Gate which allows you to run multiple applications from the single GPS feed. - Mike |

That was a v5 issue, long since corrected. It is likely that you have simply not exited the program fully. Until you do so, the BT Serial Port is still assigned to TomTom and no other application can access it and its data.
Utilities such as Franson's GPSGate allow a single BT Data Connection to be shared so that multiple apps can access it at the same time.
If you don't need this facility exit properly or perform a quick soft reset to ensure the port has been released. _________________ Darren Griffin |
