I've been using TTN2 with an emtac BT GPS and a 3970 for some time. I've recently upgraded to TTN3.01, GPSmart and a 2210 (succesfully paired). It all seems to work fine, until I close TTN3 and switch off the GPSmart - then the GPS app (3.02)(which is sitting in the taskbar area of the Today screen) keeps popping up the BT Manager asking which device it should connect to. Even switching on/off don't stop it - all I can do is a soft reset.
I seem to recall a similar problem in an earlier message, suggesting that reverting to GPS 2.07 might fix the problem. But a search didn't find anything.
I'm sure nobody else puts up with this behaviour - but how do they stop it? |

When you exit TTNav the GPS app should close automatically. Are you exiting TTNav before switching off the Fortuna?
The main issue surrounding all post 2.07 GPS drivers is the BT COM Port locking that prevents third party GPS apps from accessing the BT GPS. If you want to experiment, you can download v2.07 from here. Be sure to uninstall the current version and soft reset before installing 2.07. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I've not noticed a general problem but very occasionally the GPS application does fail to close. If this happens, soft reset the Pocket PC.

2210, Fortuna BT and TTN3
My problem is getting Memory Map to work now that I have "upgraded" the GPS driver. Why on earth do TomTom think that anyone installing their software will not want to connect their GPS to any other software?
I'll try version 2.7 tomorrow unless anyone has any ther advice.
Cheers

You can either uninstall the TomTom~GPS entry and retain your current version or revert to v2.07, either way will resolve the BT Com Port kludge that TomTom implemented in all post v2.07 drivers. _________________ Darren Griffin |
