Please inform me if someone finds the way to keep the existing menu of TomTom ONE Third Edition Europe Version 7.166, just adding Itinerary planning & Manage POIs
And keeping TomTomSafety Cameras, Map corrections & Help me.
I don't understand why you are unable to do it if you did a menu of 8 pages!!
I don't know why TomTom has hidden all these important options!!!!!
Thank you guys!
The problem is that those items were included in a version of the software released after the last SDK, so nobody (outside of TomTom) knows what they should be called in the menu, or even if they can be called from the menu. I tried several iterations, as have others, with no luck. The menu-switching tactic seems to be the best solution to date.
But I have no doubt that if and when someone figures it out, you will find it in this thread.
Firstly, thanks so much to all of you who have made my tomtom one 3rd edition work properly. I couldn't care less about losing the help option and map correction (although as someone pointed out you can still get map correction through the map screen cursor icon).
I have a question - does anyone know how to find a POI if you have no idea where it is in the country? So you can't specify which town it's near, or if it's near you etc... As far as I can see you can only see about 20 POIs in any given category, no matter which option you select.
Any way to see a list of ALL the POIs in a category, regardless of where they are??

Most Custom POIs have a location, plus other detail, in the Name Text.
After the Category Selection you can use the Find Button to input any part of the Name Text to filter the displayed results. _________________ Richard

To get the map correction short cut on the screen you need to remove the custom menu in order to revert back to the standard menu to switch this on, to do this remove the tomtom.mnu file from the SdkRegistry folder to the PC.
Switch the TomTom on and go to Main Menu page 2, select "Map Corrections" then "Correction preferences" on the final screen of questions the device will offer you the chance to display a button on the driving view to mark locations you want to correct later, enable this by selecting "Show report button"
Re-connect the device to the PC and copy the tomtom.mnu file back into the SdkRegistry folder - boot the device up and you should now have the map correction button on the front screen with your custom menu - Mike

Hang on a sec...
I think what jack 880 was referring to is this:
Go to Browse map.
Zoom in somewhere and tap the screen - you get a round blue cursor where you tap.
Now tap the on-screen BUTTON at the bottom with the same blue symbol.
If it works as the other models in the range, the options presented to you should include "Correct Location".
Tapping that should give you all the normal Mapshare corrections, so you DON'T need to put the original menu back to get Mapshare.
Try it and report back (as I don't have a ONE I'm only going by what I've heard, so confirmation would be great).

Yes I confirm that does work Andy, but its quite a few taps of the screen if you are moving and just want to mark the location for later alterations, the screen short cut I mentioned above is a single button press on the nav screen (a bit like the short cut menu button we have on the x20 units, but you cannot configure this one) - Mike

Got you Mike, I hadn't properly read your post, thought you were just saying to put the original menu back if you wanted the correction icon.
I remember that you can get the "Report" button as a quick menu, just out of interest, once youve done your single tap, what happens later when you want to make the actual report?
the map correction thing is crap though - today i was driving up the A10, and the tomtom said that all the flyovers were exits - i could see no way to correct this. It has a correction for motorway exits, but as the A10 is not a motorway it didn't work.... useless........
Oldboy - thanks for the reply, but what i was after was a way to see all the POIs in a category in a single list, regardless of their name or location........
annoyed the one 3rd ed doesnt have bluetooth or sd card slot, i assumed it would as all the previous ones have. I wish i bought an XL....
Just got the TT One 3rd Edition after using the TT Mobile for many years, the One is my first standalone Satnav. I only use satnav occasionally mainly when goin out of town to places not been before. I have backup the files on PC as suggested and now ready to join the pocketgps speed camera member, but before I do that, just wanna ask few questions. Since the
'Manage POI' has been omitted on the One, do I therefore require to make a Custom Menu first before I could add pocketgps camera files to my One? Or do I simply just add these files to the UK/Ireland maps and no need to 'turn' these speed camera files on in 'Manage POI' and it will automatically run when I use the One?? Abit confused really, my take is that these camera database files are treated as 'POI' files in the One and you have to select them inorder to use them?? Pls clarify, thanks. PS, do I need to delete the TT camera files too to get the custom ones to work?? Cheers.
