Don't worry about the mains cable. The Garmin will be powered by USB while plugged into the PC. But if the PC is a laptop then make sure that is mains powered. The update could take a couple of hours! The Garmin is USB 1 which is rather sloooooow! |

Very true, all you need to do is
1. connect your garmin to your PC
2. insert disc into computer and follow instructions.
3. make sure you turn off your screen saver (it stops the installation)
4. go and watch TV for a couple of hours.
when it finishes (pop up box) jusst remove the disc.
new maps are very good. |

Except the road near me that just been added where it tries to send you through a car park to another road. A route which is impossible because of a brick wall. Not a problem with v8.
Oh and for some reason another regular trip sends me through the centre of Croydon, and on the back roads instead of the main road around it... Not a problem with v8.
And i was diverted of a main road and asked to go round a load of back streets and rejoin the main road half a mile later for no apparent reason.... Not a problem with v8.
Really trying not to be disappointed.... |

It won't happen for the maps, however all the quirks I've found so far can probably be traced to the routing engine which can be fixed with a firmware update. |

Was that diverted off Stanley Park Road, up Park Hill Road, Hawthorn Road and back down Woodcote Road by any chance? V9 does that! I live in Carshalton Beeches, too! |

Yes!!! Was heading from Wallington cross roads to 5 Ways... Ignored it of course. v8 didn't do that!!
Even weirder one is coming home from Lake District at weekend. We stayed in a place NE of Kendal called Shaw End. There is a BP petrol Station called Prizet just south of Kendal. If you run a route from Shaw End to home it takes you through the centre of Kendal and then past the BP Station. However so i had a count down to the petrol station (i didn't want to miss it!!) i set a via point. It then routes you across the top of Kendal and out to the main road picking it up earlier then along the same route! Absolutely no reason to do that! |

Just updated mine, it's only let me install a new version of UK and Ireland, I've been exploring the disc but can't work out how to try and get the rest of europe on my nuvi SD card.
Is it possible to get full europe on a UK / Ireland only Nuvi with this disc? |

You might need a bigger one. if your unit only came with UK / ireland it might only have enough room for UK / Ireland. |
