Preparing POI files

I have created a POI file for TomTom and want to make it available for Garmin. I would appreciate it if someone would tell me the best format in which to supply it. I have a POI processor which will produce a Garmin file or a comma delimited file but I also need to know the dimensions and other specifications for the graphics file.

22 pixels x 22 pixels x 24 colours is the Icon for Garmin. Aparently newer ones can handle 24 x 24 but i've only ever seen 22 x 22.

CSV is probably the best format as it can be easily read / edited in Notepad / Excel etc

CSV is the Garmin format, POIEdit will convert the files for you as will POIConverter from our very own Richard Davies.

Thanks for the info. Does the graphics file have the same extension as the TomTom file - bmp?

And it needs to be the same name as the csv file..

i.e. waitrose.bmp to waitrose.csv
