|

Require to update the following TT300 (4), TT1V1(5) and TT1V2(1) with the latest firmware and V715 UK and Irl maps.
The units are distributed at various locations, have spoken to Tomtom Support and also TomTom at Work as paying and downloading via the internet is a defiant no! no! as they are in use by the UK's biggest employer.
A estimate, bill and full vat receipt will be required.
I am aware that it is likely that the 300's will need new SD Cards and possibly the TT1's also.
The only solution TomTom could offer was to buy the EU maps (UK only available via download) which are supplied on SD card and are considerably more expensive and copy over the operating system etc.
How up to date is the EU maps, the UK Maps were just released early Feb 2008 and any pointers to where to buy.
Has anyone any suggestions, ideas or advise on the way best to tackle this what at first you would think is an easy task.
Regards,

What map release is loaded to each device, as they might be way out of date or possibly more recent?
As for cost related issues can you not submit an LPO or expense claim to cover the upgrade cost, although multiple devices from a single account is very problematic to achieve, you would need a seperate e-mail address per device to do this, the outright purchase of the maps on memory cards might be the easier option in the long run though - Mike |

thanks for the reply Mike,
The red tape involved with this will be involvement of the Motor Transport Section and because we are not talking about the hardware also the IT section. There are stringent rules that have to be met and the easy way of doing it myself and claiming will not be a option due to the costs.
I was aware the downloading option will require 10 individual email address to accomplish the map updates and it was a route i would rather not take.
The EU SD card solution was a way to go but guess what they are only available as V7.10 release and V7.15 as a download so as it stands that option is at this time a no goer and would be better to wait until the V7.15 is available on SD.
