Hiya Newbie here.
Acer V200 running Destinator V6.0.4.20 UK/Europe version.
Asked Acer for a supplier of US maps.
They passed me to Destinator.
They pass me to Navteq who dont list the V200.
Back to Destinator who will only sell me the complete V7 with US maps.
Acer dont know if V7 will run on the V200 so that's spend GBP100 plus on a chance.
I dont think so.
Its back to my trusty old Garmin GPS V.
My advice? Avoid ACER and Destinator if you want any consumer assistance.

Didn't realise D7 US wasn't even released yet - Destinator just said "Go to one of our suppliers and buy the maps you want".
But they didn't seem to understand or care that the suppliers wont sell the maps without the D6.
So if you own D6 with UK/Europe maps you HAVE to buy another D6 if you want US maps.
That's pretty sharp practice IMHO
I think I read somewhere that D7 maps are not compatable with D6 anyway??
And D6 US on its own is almost what I paid for Acer V200 UK/Europe package. |

That's the way the industry goes.
The profit is in the maps and the program is free or close to free. _________________ D7

Hiya
Your right, some industries do treat consumers with contempt.
They have to be made to pay with profits and the more global business becomes the more global the consumer groups will become.
And they wonder why people crack codes and sell pirate copies? |
