Do you have a backup of the device? also can you state what software version is on the unit (tap the sat strength bars to find this out) - Mike |

Have you done a Day 1 backup?

Just to emphasise, the particular data.chk file you need is specific for each software version..
If you don't have any backups (shame on you!) then the easiest way to get it back is to first DO THAT BACKUP, and then temporarily remove all the files that are not in any folders (leave all the folders alone).
Then connect up to Home and select "Update my device" (if it isn't set to do that immediately on connection). That will get you the latest software complete with the latest data.chk.
You might well have to put the two splashscreen files (splashw.bmp and antitheftw.bmp) back on at the end. |
