Just delete the file named "POI.dat" in the map folder, this will remove all traces of the inbuilt POI files although if you have been using map share to update POI files there will be a whole load of ov2 suplementary files that need removal as well.
Getting rid of the POI.dat file is of very little benefit though, what is your train of though behind doing this? - Mike |

I thought about removing the supplied POI's and replacing them with ones I want and hopefully more upto date versions.
I was also thinking of adding your speed camera database. |

You can add custom POI files to the device without having to delete the POI.dat file, you can add upto 300 custom POI categories if you have the latest software on your device with no problems at all, each single POI category can contain thousands of individual locations.
If you really must delet the inbuilt POI files (which serves little purpose) make sure you copy the file to the PC BEFORE removing it, this way you can easily re-instate it should the need arise - Mike |

Thanks Mike
So there's no real reason to remove the inbuilt POI's, can I disable them so I don't get duplicates showing on the MAP ?? |

Unless you select the POI to show on the map they wont appear anyway check your settings in Change Preferences/ Show POI on Map and make sure the inbuilt POI files are de-selected - Mike |
