First of all, does the TomTom work on its own (ie not using Home)?
If not, what have you done so far that might have caused you to lose the original map? |

More information please...
Sorry if it sounds like the third degree, but we have to ask specific questions to try to get an idea of what might be going on.
1. You ask about installing maps from "my downloaded folder". Have you downloaded any maps? There won't be any in a download folder unless you've bought a new map or been given one under the "Latest map guarantee".
2. If you only had the maps that came with the Go when you bought it, I ask again, can you think of what you might have done to lose them.
3. You say you have a backup. How did you make it? Using TomTom Home or Windows Explorer?
4. Find the places where the backup may be (wherever you put it for a Windows Explorer Backup) or wherever you have Home set to put them for a Home backup (In Home look at Tools/Home Preferences/Folder Preferences to find where it stores them).
Do you see any folders there called "Western Europe".
5. Do you have a folder called "Western Europe" on the 720's internal memory, if you examine THAT with Windows Explorer? |
