I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 and have downloaded speed camera's, and have tried to add voice prompts as I had on my other sat nav, but it will only play the set single tone. I have set the voice prompts in MP3 and added them at the same time as the speed cameras, but they will not play. Can any one offer a solution?
Regards

Hi and welcome.
Did you name the voice prompts to match the files?
i.e.
pocketgps_uk_sc.CSV
pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp
pocketgps_uk_sc.mp3 |

Sorry if this is obvious, but when you say "I have set the voice prompts in MP3..." what have you actually done?
Where have the voice prompts come from?
If you are using the ones from this site, they are only downloadable in .ogg format, you would need to convert them to .mp3 format, with something like Audacity.
Simply renaming them from ".ogg" to ".mp3" would not work. |

I have converted the voice files from WAV into MP3 and named them pocketgps_uk_gatso.mp3 etc and for all corresponding alerts, redlight, traffic lights and so on. These where all download originally from pocketgps website |

Hi Guys
Thank's for the information, and I have finally got the voice alerts to work. Still don't know what the problem was, but having removed the POI's and voice alerts, re-checked the voice tags MP3, re-loaded all the files it worked.
Must have been down to operator error, namely ME, dumpy fingers
