I would be interested in knowing how you unlocked your device to access windows. I have a U-93T and would like to experiment with other software.
Many thanks _________________ If it ain't broke then fiddle with it until it is! |

It`s very easy. You just have to rename the file named nav-u.exe to nav-uold.exe (browse the device by active sync). It`s stored in \Mounted Volume\Sony\nav-u on the device. Then you had to copy showtaskbar.exe (I can send you that file) to the same directory oryginal nav-u.exe was stored and renamed nav-u.exe.
Unplug the device from computer and you have unlocked your navu.
It work on u92, sould work in yours
The minimalized taskbar is on the bottom(press to slide up, you could turn off autohideing in control panel)
If you can`t rename the oryginal file. You just reboot the device before you pluged in to computer
Could you send me contens of your \Mounted Volume\Sony\nav-u directory archiwized by rar or zip. swierqu83ATwp.pl
thanks, regards from Poland
ps.sorry 4 poor english |

Anyone had any success in running ANY other navigation programs on the U92T? I get to the Windows CE interface and have been trying to run the following navigation programs, Igo 2006, Igo 2008, Destinator 7, TomTom, Navigon 6.5 and MioMap, but none of them can see the GPS, and trust me I've tried all tricks and turns on sys.txt for Igo and MioMap, Destinator manual tried all ports, autosearch, but it does not find it at all. In registry the GPS serial is listed as on COM 5, in the original files on device it's listed in SPGPS.ini as on COM 3. BUt none of them is working.
After some more digging into it, the U92T has also a pressure/acceleration sensor build for the famous "GPS Plus" which keeps navigating in tunnels ect, but for this I only find one reference in registry which is listed as PosSensor/PSD1, but no reference to COM port.
Also I've tried out Franson GPS gate, also tried POI Observer Virtcom Batcher combination, but everytime the GPS is not detected, found or give any data, only with the original program it's working correctly.
Would really appriciate is anyone have any idea how to setup or change settings in order to get to this GPS com port.
Been playing for over 3 years unlocking PNAs/PNDs, but it's the first time I'm stuck with a device like this.

I have heard to turn on the gps with the sony is hardcoded in the original nav-u.exe, so there lies your answer. I even tried gps gate, but eventually gave up and got rid of it. I hated the version of Navigon it used. Igo/Dest/miomap system will only operate in system that have the gps already activated.
The viewing screen of the Sony was so cluttered and slow. Unbelievable poor performance. I thought I was up grading from my Mio C710 3.5" LCD and wanted a widescreen with TMC, but I was very dissappointed.
I settled for a Harmon Kardon GPS (great built in TMC receiver). These devise are easy to unlock, have a version of igo2006 already built in and the GPS is activated all the time. So it will work with any system.Widescreen 480 x 272 is also available in a very sturdy compact case.
Just thought I would put my point across as it could prove usefull in a GPS decision making process. |
