Sorry I'm really trying to get this clear because i can't replicate it. When you get the alert does it say GATSO:12345@3 or GATSO:12345@0 at the top of the screen?
Also do you have the latest firmware? |

It says Gatso:12345@0 but tells me I have a 3 mph speed limit and bleeps if I go above 3mph, I have now loaded manually instead of Express and it still says Gatso:12345@0 but had a speed limit of 70 after I change the 0 to 70 when asked manually
I think I have the latest firmware, I have downloaded the latest from Garmin using Webupdater Version 5:30 Nuvi 350
Thanks for your help with this |

I am at work now but will try over the weekend. However using the Manual load I seem to have sorted it out. It appears that @0 defaults to 3mph on the alert speed, which if changed manually when loading gives me a 70 mph speed alert.
Thanks
don't you sleep?? |

Not as much as I'd like to......
The problem seems weird. I think MaFt said someone else reported this but it's certainly not a common problem. It's bugging me... |

i have a feeling that it is device and firmware specific as it's certainly not common across the whole garmin range.

I have found out what was causing the 3 mph error
I had broken up the csv files into convenient blocks and put them in subdirectories called speedcameras1 , speedcameras2, speedcameras3 and speedcameras4.
The variable ones and those with @0 were then defaulting to 1, 2, 3, or 4 mph instead of none depending on which subdirectory they were in.
By altering the subdirectories to speedcamerasa, b c and d I have now got a speed of none in the place I got 3mph or for that matter 1mph 2mph or 3mph before.
I hope this makes sense. It appears that any number in the title of the directory or files holding the csv files will be the default mph instead of 0 or nothing at all. @20, @30 @40, @50 etc seems to overide the default.
I hope all this makes sense
Thanks for the help in sorting this out. Maybe it will be of use to future garmin users. Don't use numbers in your names of directories or files.
All the best

So it was YOU all along
Can I ask why you break them up into these folders? I'd be interested to know what the benefit is? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes, as usual there is a simple answer, me being simple again.
I broke it up into folders because the POI loader said there were too many files in the single folder so I broke it into 2 for UK and 2 for Europe.
It then downloaded them into the Nuvi 350
Thanks for help, I certainly will recommend you to all my friends who have sat navs

Ah I see, I only asked as I'm not that proficient with Garmin units.
Glad to hear it is all resolved even if I suspect we weren't much use although its not for the want of trying _________________ Darren Griffin |

I KNEW IT!!!!
It's a known feature / bug in Gamin units that if you have a number in the titlle of a POI file or folder it takes that as the Proximity Alert speed where one isn't specified.
Thats why i asked what the folders were called! You didn't tell me there were others called speedcameras1 , speedcameras2, speedcameras3 and speedcameras4. You only mentioned a folder called speedcameras. If you had (mumble, grumble.....)
Still, at least it's sorted now.....
Perhaps i can sleep now..... |

7-11 stores?
"3" and Phones-4-U?
Century21 Estate Agents?
All Bar One? (OK that's written in full)
MI5 buildings?
I've got everyone at work trying to think of them now! |
