Change your "You have reached your destination" to something else as well as new Ringtone, Incoming message tone and POI alert sounds.
New "add-ons" (in Tools menu). It says I have a new Mapshare "status indicator". Not seen it yet....
Add "Images and icons" (car icon, splash screens)
Changing content, it now "Recommends" stuff (like Traffic and Speed cams.)
It now actually tells you whether you have got the Internal memory or the SD card selected.
That's what I've seen so far... |
how do i get it to work?

In Home, click on "Help", then "Check for TomTom HOME Update". _________________ Dennis

What boxes? In TT Home, see the Menu at the top of the page (File, Device, Tools, Help) _________________ Dennis

What I know so far...
If you go to TT Home / Add Maps, Traffic Voices etc. / Page 3 of 4 "Add Sounds" / "Arrival Sounds" - you then get a list of sounds to download.
Try one of those and it downloads two files, a wav sound file called "arrive.wav" in a new folder called "customvoice" and a file called "arrive.tlv" in the sounds folder
The .tlv file seems to be just a description, and there can only be one arrive.wav (each new download just overwrites the previous sound and gives it the same name).
I haven't tried this yet, but you could try replacing the arrive.wav with your own file (renamed to "arrive.wav). The ones I looked at were 11,025Hz sample rate, 8 bit audio files. |

Just forced tom tom home to go out and search for it ..was using 2.1 before , now not sure if it was a good idea as now i have a problem .. and also not sure where it is,
V2.2 is telling me that "that my map is 20 weeks out of date 12758 free mapshare map corrections awaiting ... erm had mapshare enabled in v2.1 , anyway so i asked it to get updates and fairly sure i getting some poi updates..it then told me it couldn't find any account linked to my email addy so i redid it ....it no allowing to go on but it finds no map updates .. but still have this little message showing.
Had this unit since around Nov 07 .. using app v7.162 , map uk & ireland v710.1571.
anyone any thoughts , similar problems? |

What exactly doesn't work? Do you get the downloads page in Home?
But, as I said in my original post
Quote: | Only problem is that there is a note (in the Help file for the latest Home) saying:
"Note: Custom sounds are not supported on all TomTom devices."
.....without saying which ones they are! |

I found that is it only supported 520/720/920 devices, why it is not greyd like car icons........
"If you have a TomTom GO 520/720/920 you can easily add a custom arrival sound to replace the standard You have reached your destination message." |

I have had the new version of home on and since the updates i can no longer
get into the saftey camera bit to sort out warnings or add a camera, all i get it this message
TomTom Saftey cameras etc
You can join this service and download saftey camera location to your device using tomtom home
so no cameras even show on the map at all
any body had this problem
contacted tomtom and the oblivious to any problems |

Hi souldude and welcome!
Am I right in thinking you are just using the version of the camera data that was on your unit when you bought it? (i.e. you haven't subscribed to updates?)
I've no idea why Home should have changed anything, unless you've added a new map?
Bit if you have got a backup of your TT, this shouldn't be a problem.
Basically, all the TT camera files are non-standard ".ov2" files in your current map folder. If you can find them on a backup (or a different map folder) you should be able to copy them back onto the TT and set them up again in the Go's own menus. |
