So, I get my nice new Ipaq 210. Start installing apps. Once I use a lot is TomTom v6. Installation goes OK until TT6 actually starts. Then, it proceeds to turn off the backlight.
Help? Anyone any ideas why?

OK - it looks like Tomtom 6.03 will cure my problem. But I need to download the latest maps. SO, more money to fork out !!

What version of map do you actually own? - the application should be free and not dependent upon map number, where did you get the information that you need a new map? - Mike |

I am a legal owner of Tom Tom 5 5.21 and the latest (6.6) WE maps. I tried to put those onto my Ipaq 210. No joy - got the backlight removal issue.
So, I thought I'd try TT6. I evaluated it earlier and it gave me nothing I wanted over TT5, so I never bought it. This was 6.01.
Installing it gave me the same error. In another forum (an Ipaq one), someone said they had the same issue and that upgrading to 6.03 cured it.
So, I installed TomTom Home and downloaded the 6.03 update. Installed that and it got past the bit where the backlight would turn off. Of course, the maps wouldn't install - but I didn't expect them to.
So, I have bought the latest WE maps from TomTom and am now downloading them onto my device using TomTom home. I just hope all this works.

Until today when my Ipaq died.
So, it's being sent back. |
