A moderator on a NA tomtom board who is also a Mac user reports he's only being offered the 1.5 version again .....
I guess it's too much to expect TomTom to get anything right the first time .. |
Yup, same for Tim at GPSreview. |
It is he I was referring to, infama |
LoL
OK,
I thought you were talking about tomtomforums.com |

Hello Darren
Did you get version 2.2.0.16 when you downloaded for Mac?
Are you able to drive your TT using your Mac?
p.s. I also noticed that using 1.5 (latest on TT website) does not give a prompt to update to V2.2. Works with 1.6.020 though! |

Yes 2.2.0.16
I had to go into preferences and force it to Check for updates before it would acknowledge one was available. And then once downloaded the install failed with 'install failed' and it would not then retry the install.
Repeating the check for updates then said I had the latest update!
In the end I quit 1.6 located the downloaded update in the HOME directory structure and installed myself! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I did the Pref thing, but it keeps saying that my 1.6 version is the latest!
Did you do anything different?
Is there a URL link to the download?

andy ----- I know what you mean. I remember the days when it was even worse there. Travel there a few times a month, plus the sailing to and from Port Solent

The PC version of the new software is (not surprisingly) laughable in certain areas.
For example, in the choce to dl poi's, the good news is that you can search by country; the bad news (when I select Canada) is that the search doesn't work. It lists a bunch of poi's (and itineraries, btw) that include Netherlands only, Europe, USA, etc.
As I said in a previous post here today, I'm convinced the real purpose of TTHome is to provide laughs to the user. Glad the software developers haven't let me down with this newest update.
(what, me sarcastic ) |

No Darren, it's the same process "Home needs to download something to wreck your computer to run this feature" " Do ya want it?" Yes/No. It took me many attempts to get the new Home for the Mac and it took more than one go to get the download to Operate my GO. I think in both cases the final attempt which succeeded (others just gave up) said it had not installed, but when that message disappeared, it HAD installed.
First couple of times I did Operate my GO, it suffered a corrupted screen with a black rectangle underneath the Go I was operating. Logged off and on reloading, it worked properly. _________________ Dennis

I get an error "xulrunner.exe failed with error 0" after the tomtom home loads, and then I click to run it and get it started up. I have uninstalled in and reinstalled it 3 times. So whats the deal??? How can I fix it? |

Keep trying, but try without uninstalling Home (just close Home, then restart it). I did it all several times and got there eventually (of course, I'm better looking than most people and can curse quite horribly too). _________________ Dennis

Thanks for that as the site is still giving v1.5 and no update is found within the app. |
