|
|
Having just received TomTom Nav6 on SD card and copied all files (including hidden) onto my own 8GB micro-SD card, i now find it wont install on my HTC Touch (std version). The message i get is:
Installation of ttn.cab was unsuccessful.
Storage Space
Your phone is running low on free storage space.
Delete old or unused items to create more space.
Not sure if this is the reason why TTN6 wont install, but i've had a good look around my device to find any files that could be deleted. My current memory usage is as follows:
Storage - Total 31.44MB In use 29.08MB Free 2.36 MB (which granted is very low)
Program - Total 47.90MB In use 30.40MB Free 17.50MB (which seems ok to me)
I've got all my personal files (photos, documents, videos, music etc.) on my Storage Card and every programme i've installed has also gone on the Storage Card. Apart from a perhaps oversized PIM file of 3MB, i cant see what else i can delete. I've run AutoClean and FreeUp RAM, but still cant install TTN6.
Any ideas folks? I need this to be up and running next week!

Have you tried deleting the Internet Explorer start IE on the phone and go to Menu/ Tools/ Optons and select the Memory Tab, use the Delete files button, does this free up memory at all - I find I run out of memory on the Artemis after a few days of heavy internet usage and this sorts it out - Mike |

I had tried that, but it didn't free up enough to enable me to install TTN6, so i ended up deleting a load of programmes i haven't used that much and hey-ho - it worked!
Thanks for your help |
