I have a tomtom go 910 with the latest update and a uk map with mapshare , My problem is that the tomtom speaks to me in a foreighn language when i need to make turn but the rest of the time in english , I have it set to uk english and a computer voice , eg it will say turn left on the roundabout , towards .... and then the road sign will say the north , my device used to say " THE NORTH" , now it says it in a foreign language , i dont know what language it is using but it is doing it all the time , the only word it gets right is "LONDON" , I have searched for help and cant find anything i have reset factory settings , but no good , i used to love the fact it would say follw the road to manchester or birmingham or stoke etc etc but now it justy confuses me , I have put a human voice on at the minute to stiop it happening but i would like to sort this out , Any help greatly apreciated , I Use my tom tom every day in my lorry and it is brilllaint when used in conjunction with common sense . its just a shame that common sense is not included in the box. Do you have backups you can go back to?
If you backup at every stage before updating you can find out whether the problem is down to the map or the software.
If you bought the UK map recently, you should be able to download it again (it's available for a year after purchase).
The 910 comes with Western Europe mapping. Where is that? If you still have it on the unit or can reload it, what happens when you switch to that map? |

Did you do your Backups with HOME or Explorer? _________________ Richard

I moved the western europe off the machine to use mapshare and to hepl me find places faster , I bought a uk map when i found out my map on the unit was so out of date , it was not showing major roads that have been around in my area leicester for years ,three of them were on my test route , I backed up in old home and in new home as well on an other laptp I have. I still have the maps though i have not tried putting them on the unit again ill try that tonight . |

Be aware that older versions of HOME would corrupt the Filenames of the TTS Files. It changes the Upper Case Letters to lower case, which meant that it wouldn't work if you did a Restore.
If you need it, I have a Basic Utility that will correct the problem. _________________ Richard
