You should get an orange rotating ball top right when the device is scanning, a green solid ball top right when it has achieved a signal it can use, if neither are present please make sure you have pushed the connector fully home in the socket as they can be rather tight. What device and what version of software have you got installed - Mike |

Make sure the RDS connector is fully home in its socket and the 910 is seated on its car docking shoe correctly - give the RDS connecter a really good push though - it needs it - Mike |

It really depends in your area as i have the old type and i would not change it but others say they get a poor reception or none at all.
Did you get it working mort66 _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

If you are not getting a small green light or a rotating orange light in the top right hand corner then as Mike said make sure you have pushed the reciever plug right in to the dock and make sure the unit is in the dock correctly. You should also get a text alert when you connect the dock like (RDS-TMC traffic reciever is connected in the top corner also but for about 2 seconds. You should get the lights no matter what reciever you have so check the plug again. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

That's what they would say
With internal aerial this is typical of the sort of (lack of) reeption that you can have. Without resorting to connection to an external aerial - try different locations/orientations of the aerial wire - you may get better results. Connection to your car aerial (search these lists for details - there are lots!) will generally improve things substantially. _________________ Phil |

As Mike Alder has already said, make sure you have the latest version of the receiver (a little ticket on the cable should have a V number ending in 013 on it). If you haven't, get on to Tom Tom and get them to arrange an upgrade. The earlier uniots are completely useless.
Once you have the correct cable, you should get a green circle most of the time UNLESS, like me, you have an athermic windscreen which will completely stuff the signal.
I have resorted to routing my cable out through the door seal and have tied it to my roof rail. I get a stonking signal about 90% of the time! ( I also get a few drips of water leaking into the car down the cable when it rains, but you can't have everything!!) |
